The Client
TouchNote is a UK-based personalised card company known for its innovative approach to greeting cards and other printed products. Founded in 2008, TouchNote offer a user-friendly mobile app and website to enable customers to create and send customised greeting cards, postcards, and gifts using their own photos and messages.
The Role
TouchNote were looking for a Chief of Staff to propel the company's growth. They required a highly versatile individual capable of seamless collaboration across all teams. This person would spearhead strategic initiatives, overseeing key performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives (OKRs) company-wide. The ideal candidate needed to possess a unique blend of skills—an all-rounder who could also communicate effectively with developers and software engineers. Moreover, this was an urgent hire, necessitating an immediate start.
What we did
We engaged with relevant companies in the field, focusing on competitors within TouchNote's industry to tap into industry experts. Simultaneously, we reached out to candidates from fast-growing tech scale-ups, knowing their experiences aligned perfectly with the role. We established a client pack and a real-time tracking system to keep the client informed of our progress and approach throughout the search process. Recognising the time sensitivity of the project, we also leveraged our network to identify immediately available candidates. We then guided both the client and candidates through the interview process, ensuring alignment with client needs and fostering strong candidate engagement.
The outcome
Ultimately, we successfully placed an experienced Chief of Staff who had previously excelled at one of Europe's most prosperous software development scale-ups. We achieved this in less than a month from the initial brief. The chosen candidate was ready to start within the same timeframe, ensuring that TouchNote secured the perfect fit for their business without any detrimental impacts resulting from a vacant role.
